I have a habit of keeping my story ideas close to the chest.

This is because the few times I told someone my idea, if they responded with anything less than omg-thats-the-best-idea-ever! energy--I immediately took that to mean it was a shitty-ass idea and threw it in the bin.

But thanks to lots of therapy, coffee, and steady progress on 3 stories set in this world, I feel safe to announce that the first book in my new series, called the Tailings Series, is nearing completion.

Here are some progress notes and how the stories relate:

All the stories take place in the same world—a world shaped by a deadly rift and the spirits it's brought to the surface.
